FX Medicine LIVE were delighted to be attend the ATMS Functional GI Symposium on the Sunday, 15 September 2019 in Sydney. 

The ATMS 2019 Functional GI Symposium is a special event designed to provide a powerful educational focus with specialised, integrative, naturopathic trainings on the diagnosis and treatment of varied GI presentations.

FX MEDICINE LIVE: Andrew Speaks with Dr Daniel Weber 

Daniel Weber is visiting Professor at Tianjin University, where he lectures post-graduate students and is doing research. He is the author of many books and published articles on integrative medicine. CEO of Panaxea International, Daniel travels extensively, lecturing on modern botanical medicine while acting as a supervisor to post-graduate students. He is deeply committed to research and evidence based medicine (EBM), and works to promote integrative clinics.

He is Vice-Chair Oncology; World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and editor of the Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine. Daniel founded the Association of Integrative Oncology and Chinese Medicine and is currently the president.

Daniel is recognised internationally as a passionate and informative speaker, author and promoter of EBM herbal medicine.

Dr Johan Van Den Bogaerde is a gastroenterologist and researcher who has a special interest in the microbiome and the emerging field of faecal microbial transplants. Dr Van Den Bogaerde shares with us the current scientific opinion on the influencers of gut microbial diversity and he shares his excitement about the research expanding the potential treatment avenues for faecal microbial transplants in areas such as ulcerative colitis and autism.

Dr Nirala Jacobi graduated from Bastyr University in 1998 with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. She practiced as a primary care physician in Montana for seven years before arriving in Australia and is still a licensed physician in the US. Considered one of Australia’s leading experts in the natural treatment of small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), a common cause of IBS, Dr Jacobi is a national and international speaker on this topic. Dr Jacobi is the medical director of SIBO test (sibotest.com), an online testing service,and also has a busy practice in northern NSW.

Christine holds a Bachelor of Commerce (1984), Bachelor of Health Science (2010), Adv. Dip. Of Homeopathy (2005) and Nutrition (2013). Her unusual combination of skills come from twenty years in Risk Management in Investment Banking before her career a natural medicine practitioner. Her focus is on preventative health. Christine is Head of Department of Nutrition at Nature Care College and lectures in Homoeopathy and Nutrition as well as teaching business skill programs for natural therapists. In addition, she has been involved in promoting natural medicine; as Treasurer for the Australian Homeopathic Association, where she initiated a major project establishing online renewals and seminar registrations.
